Coastal Cavaliers' Week Horseriding Adventure

17th - 23rd April
Travel across Cowal on a 5-day point-to-point ride with Wilder Ways. Travel from Argyll’s Secret Coast through Glendaruel to the beautiful Mirror Loch and its majestic hills. This is a chance to explore the unknown majesty of Cowal, from the beauty of its beaches and coves, through craggy mountain and woodland trails to the tranquil beauty of Loch Eck and Loch Fyne. This ride is five full days of exciting riding followed by evenings in comfortable inns and lodges, and opportunities to sample fabulous, locally sourced food and Scottish hospitality.

The riding starts from Portavadie where you will enjoy some coastal treasures, secret coves and golden sands with stunning views out to the Isle of Arran. From here your journey will take youalong the winding River Ruel, through historic Glendaruel renowned for its rich green pastures and baronial halls. You will then head up over the hills and through the woodlands descending down into the village of Strachur with views of Loch Fyne, famous for its Scottish salmon and vivid pink sunsets. On the last day you will ride around Lock Eck, the Mirror Loch, stopping to picnic on the shore and stay overnight at a remote Lodge, miles from the nearest road. You'll canter along forest trails and climb up to 200m along a craggy hill track to look out across the loch from above and the stunning mountain scenery. In places you'll scramble through ancient woodland, dripping with moss and lichens - watch out for unicorns!! You will travel ~80km on horseback in this week.
